ML?N 23 Prague @ Sir Tobys Hostel Sept 2 - Paros, Greece What do the hail seizures do when they run out of money, the drummer flips over his handlebars and has to wear a sling for two weeks, and we're all slightly hungover on Absinthe? Well, go to Greece of course! Kidnapped our new Czech friend Jan, gave our bicycles to Carbusters, and trained an epic journey from Prague, sleeping at a train station in Budapest, through Hungary, into Macedonia, Serbia, and to Thessolaniki, Greece. Played music accompanying a juggling performance on the waterfront, headed to Athens to meet up with our old friend Alex. Played on the streets for a few days, felt historic, saw the ancientness, the acropolis, drank ouzo, ate feta and olives, then ferried to Paros, Greece yesterday. Played at an art gallery last night for a bunch of expatriots which was very silly and fun. Other then that, we're swimming in the Aegean Sea, sweating lots, getting greek tans, drinking nescafe, building makeshift fishing reals, sleeping in an ancient whitewashed one room church shrine beside the sea, drinking local wine and mead out of plastic bottles, and planning the plot of our soon coming feature film starring Jan as a falcon prophet. See you all soon! hail seizures August 21 - Prague, Czech Republic Greetings from the Eastern Bloc! Following a few wonderful days of playing in parks and squares in Dresden, we cycled to the Czech Republic. Somehow we managed to weasel our way into the 20th Trutnov Music Festival in Czech Republic... the "Czech Woodstock"... and played at the second stage the first day, and a couple 'street' shows the next. You can check out the photos from the festival here along with some other pics from the tour! In Prague we are playing a few shows and also some busking.. then off to Budapest, Hungary? Check back for more updates or whatnot... we miss you olympia love the hail seizures August 6 - Berlin Sorry for the lack of updates! So much going on, so many busking stories, so many amazing people, so much so much! London was big. Stayed in the Rampart Social Center in east London, played the streets every day, some folks put up some videos HERE of us outside the modern art museum. and we learned that dumpster diving is called 'skipping'. we lived on skipped apple pie and brownies. trained to Brighton, a wonderful place. Played at the Cowley Club, a collectively owned bar and social center, with delicious beer and great people. show was fun, good dancing, lots of cute dogs, and lots of Jameson, and laughing. thanks to Cecelia for setting up that show, and to Kate and co. for putting us up! Back to London where Jim found an old skool mixing board and a microphone on the 4th floor. we hung the mic from the ceiling, pretended to be the kingsmen, and recorded an album called GOPAPASQUATSI! Then to Amsterdam... Camille and Jeff took the ferry, while the rest got locked in a sweaty little box and were carted through the chunnel, up through France, Belgium, then Holland. In Amsterdam we stayed a week at Joes Garage, a beautiful squat with a bar under it, and also a punkrock squat called Citex. Played a couple shows at Joe's, built bicycles in Earl, Sander, and Tomis place(thank you guys so so much for the tools, parts, and space), rocked out in Dam Square for the tourists, drank delicious cheap beer with good people, and felt at home... we will miss amsterdam! The six of us cycled south out of town, with a cello, three guitars, a toy piano, a snare and suitcase, violin, and all our packs toward Utrecht. Stayed in huge warehouse type squat/free store in the center of town, strangely located right next to the mall and a load of department stores. Thanks Nienka! Next day we cycled through gorgeous forests, plains, and towns 8 hours to Nijmegen where we hung out with some high school punk rockers who treated us ridiculously nice and showed us a spot next to the canal where we could sleep. Of course, it started to rain on us at about 4am, so we packed our shit up and moved under a bridge for the rest of the morning, hanging with the pigeons, the storm, broken glass, and early morning joggers... Biked in the rain to Kleeve, where we caught the cheap weekend train to Berlin. Following the madness of 8 train changes, running through stations, throwing our shit in and out of traincars, getting strange looks from everyone, we were in Berlin! Berlin is out of control! We've been staying at a crazy old squatted building in east berlin, where we played an incredibly fun show and shared verses of bella ciao with our German friends. Swam in a lake, busked a bit, and met up with the New Prohibition Band (formerly from Olympia) randomly at a flea market yesterday....... Our instruments are slowly falling apart too... and Europe is amazing... um... we are going to Dresden tomorrow, then Prague, Czech Republic, then Budapest, Hungary for a huge music festival! WE MISS YOU OLYMPIA!
